Head of a child-care centre; lecturer for independent education providers.

Member of BUND / Friends of the Earth Germany, the WWF, the Europa-Union, Amnesty International, the Institute for Solidarity in Modern Times, and various organisations in the cultural and social spheres in Baden-Württemberg.

Member of the executive committee of the Baden-Württemberg Land branch of Alliance 90/The Greens from 1995 to 1999 and since 2001; chairwoman of the Baden-Württemberg Land branch from 2003 to 2005. Spokeswoman on nuclear policy for the Alliance 90/The Greens parliamentary group in the Bundestag since 2009.
